Dave's car got hit, again. You may remember that when he bought it last year, brand new, we had it for two weeks before someone smashed into him. Thus sending us spiraling down towards months of dealing with the bodyshop for repairs and parts. A little over a year later, now that the car is a year old, disaster strikes again! We were at Belle Isle today with a group of friends, having a wonderful, fun, relaxing time when Dave gets the call from his dad that a friend of the teenage girl who lives across the street backed into Dave's car.
Idiot that she is, she didn't even realize it she claims and drove away. Luckily our neighbor saw as did Dave's dad who was watching DJ. The neighbor also came out after she saw them and called the girl back. The fender is pretty smashed, it will have to be replaced.
Even better, Dave calls their insurance to make a claim and we find out that their insurance has lapsed! Then Dave calls the guy who wants to work out a deal and pay us directly so that he's not in deep shit with his insurance co. or the law. We'll see about that......either way it's getting fixed at the bodyshop the dealer uses and by Monday or Tues we'll either have money from him or we'll be calling the insurance and the police.
What a crock of shit, you know? I'm sorry but I just have to vent a little. I am SO damn tired of stupid people doing stupid shit and innocent people paying for it. Now we've got to take time out of our lives. Now our year old car has been in TWO accidents. What the hell have we done to deserve this crappy luck? God knows worse things could have happened, but man. We do nothing but take care of our house, our kid, Dave goes to work every day and I take care of DJ and other things....why does bad stuff have to happen to good people? I know it probably sounds whiny, but hell, I'm allowed to whine I little. It just makes it so much more annoying when I look around at some people who are shitty parents, who don't contribute to society and live off of everyone else, who take advantage of other people....why doesn't anything bad happen to them?
