Over the Rainbow

Hibernating
01-29-08 @ 7:11 p.m.
I have wanted to update, but I hate to update when there's really not much going on. I have been hibernating for the winter. I despise the cold weather. However, it has given me the time at home that I can use to exercise. It's hard to exercise in the summer when you're out of the house 5 days a week doing lunch, shopping, running errands, getting together with friends etc. So, at least I can happily say that I've lost 6 pounds in 4 weeks!! Now, I am back down to where I was in June before I got sick then busy with Rosie's wedding and then just lazy. Ha. Only 11 1/2 lbs to go till I am where I want to be and should be for my weight. Right smack in the middle of a very healthy BMI. And with a new Ipod as a reward!

Ummmm...DJ is doing great. He's talking a little more. But communicating in other ways so much more. If I say I'm going potty he'll race me to the bathroom door, if I say I need to put him in his playpen so I can do something, he'll walk over there. He LOVES Itsy Bitsy Spider and tries to do the hand movements with me. He still isn't eating any meat, but he still loves his crunchy raw veggies and more recently has started eating radishes and green pepper (mild). He has started eating crunchy turkey bacon again, so that's some meat. He's still tall and lean. Oh, he's started blowing kisses. He's a handful, he really doesn't let me do much when I'm here, he is always under my feet. It gets hard.

The rest of 08 has been good to me. We've gotten some things cleaned up around the house and are in the middle of selling some of Dave's old toys on Ebay. Ha- we got $60 for one!! We haven't gone out or done much since we've only got one income now and after a new car we're paying off and Christmas gifts and then we got my hospital bill for $500 in December...money has been tight. I'm lucky to still be able to stay at home with DJ. I don't know how I would handle having to work and then take care of a house on top of that and still have energy for DJ!!

Some family stuff has been a downer- through out Xmas and still. One being we're not speaking with Dave's cousin Stacey. (We were very close, she stood up in our wedding.) I got on here a week or so ago to vent about it, but I just didn't even know where to begin, so I scraped it. Anyway, it's been since DJ's birthday in September and finally she contacted us to at least discuss what her issue is with us (she just stopped talking to us). But it's kind of too little too late and honestly we can't support her recent life decisions, mostly because of what it's doing to her son. So we're sort of between a rock and hard place right now.

Oh, and the other downer is just my mom. We go to lunch tomorrow and I'm just dreading it. We've got dinner at their house in two Sundays, and if tomorrow sucks I'll cancel the Sunday dinner. It's just horrible the way she is with DJ and his weight and eating. I put her on the phone with him yesterday and you know what she asked him, "are you hungry?" WTF She is OBSESSED with his eating. Obviously meals are not a fun time and at Xmas I wanted to stab her with a knife (literally). I don't want to confront her, I'd never win....but I can't take this stress either. I'd better go, DJ is having a fit. I thought this started when he turned 2...
