Holiday Party and update on friends
12-11-07 @ 10:13 a.m.
We had a holiday party here at our house Sunday night. There were about 12 people I think. It was a different group, Dave and I were just talking about how in the past when we have parties everyone knows everyone else pretty well. This time, since we've taken some toxic friends out of the equation, and become better friends with others, it was a mix of friends. So, everyone was just sort of more acquaintances, but it worked out well. I wish I had pictures, but unfortunately, as usual, I got too busy with taking care of things and chatting with everyone.

I love having parties and entertaining! The set up and preparation and clean-up, those are not so much fun. However, it's worth it to have a house filled with friends and family all having a good time. Out of all the get-togethers we've had here (Memorial Day BBQ's, New Years parties, Birthday's, Superbowl parties...) I think this was one of the most fun. It probably had to do with the fact that I love this time of year. And, that it was a pot-luck and so many of my friends are great cooks and bring such yummy dishes! I think we might have to make this a tradition.

Oh, good news for some of my friends. You may remember I posted about Jeff who lost his job from what used to be my ex-employer as well- he's got a job! Doing something he's ALWAYS wanted to do, and hey, even went to school for back in the day. Ha, who'd have thought?! AND, Michelle had her baby. Nathan was born a little bit after we talked- 5lb 6oz and is healthy. He's breathing on his own and all that, but they are monitoring him in the NICU. He now shares a birthday with my goddaughter (I can already see birthday party conflicts in our future!) Anyway, I went up last night to see him and he of course was sleeping, and hooked up to a few monitors, so I didn't get to hold him. But Michelle is doing well (she had an easy labor) and in good spirits. We're not sure when he will get to go home, but it may be a couple of weeks. Thanks for all your well-wishes, keep them coming!

Did I mention I love this time of year? Happy Holidays everyone! Make sure you spend it with someone you love, doing things you love, and appreciating what you have.
