More people laid off from X-horrible employer
11-06-07 @ 11:38 a.m.
The company that I used to work for, before being laid off last year, has let go many people since then. The company is half the employees it used to have. Unfortunately, I got an email yesterday that one of my best friends who worked there was let go! You may remember Jeff because he and his wife threw my baby shower. I am so pissed.

It makes me sick that none of management has been let go- when they are the ones who let this company run ONE MILLION DOLLARS in the hole for over the past 6 years! And still, other employees that are worth nothing, are still kept on, while many worthwhile employees are let go. It's disgusting.

However, in the end, it's always for the best. Nearly everyone who was let go found much better job. Actually, Jeff happened to be looking at a job opening at the same place Dave now works, coincidentally. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him.

OH, QUESTION (this is the reason I was posting this): Does anyone know if it is legal to make changes to employee severence packages, notify the employees on Fri afternoon and then let people go on Monday??!! This is what this company did and it seems not right to me....
