New houses, Cidermills, Outlet Malls, The Sopranos and a LCD TV 10-30-07 @ 1:25 p.m.
Well, it's been a while since I did an update of what's going on over here. Figured it was about due.
The past two months have been full of fun outings and other things to keep us busy. Between DJ's and my birthday, and a few other family birthdays, there was a lot of desserts being eaten- and so no such luck on losing any more weight. My brother got a condo (a mile from my parents) and he had a housewarming party. It was the first time since DJ was born that I think I was at a "party". My sister and her husband also moved into a new house and have been working like crazy on it to get it how they want it. We went over there this past Sunday for dinner (yum- my sister is a fabulous cook!) to see it for the first time- it's really nice.
We also made a couple of trips to cidermills this month. Once with our friends Ed & Michelle and this past weekend with Saki & Kevin's mom & stepdad. Both times were nice since the weather cooperated for us and we had the sun out while we did things like pick out a pumpkin, take a hayride, DJ loved the petting zoo, we bought some veggies & goodies from the farmers market and we even did a corn maze! Fall and cidermills are two reasons that I love Michigan.
This past weekend I also did another Michigander thing and that was make a trip to Frankenmuth. Michelle and I were literally there ALL day- between the outlet malls and dinner and Frankenmuth itself- plus the drive back & forth. Luckily, DJ was a trooper about it, since he was confined either to a carseat, stroller or highchair most of the day. I got some great deals on clothes for him at OshKosh, Carter's and for me at The Gap & Bath & Bodyworks. Plus some amazing cornbread and granola at Bavarian Inn!
This past summer and up until last night, Dave & I have been watching the Soprano's, from the beginning. We watched the finale last night- which was ok. I was happy with it for the most part. Today I ran to Blockbuster & got season 1 of Six Feet Under. Tonight also begins Nip/Tuck- I can't wait! We gave up watching Heroes, but we still watch Grey's Anatomy, The Office, My Name is Earl and Private Practice religiously. If I get into much more I'm not going to have time for my books; which I've started to make time for again. I have discovered Jodi Piccoult and am enthralled. I read a couple of new Jacqueline Mitchard books, a Nicholas Sparks, John Grisham, and have on my shelf the new Christopher Bohjalian, Nicholas Evans and Oprah's pick The Road that I never got to read before. I'm currently reading the new Charles Frazier- Thirteen Moons.
I have been back to Ebay selling some stuff off lately. A nice way to bring in a little extra cash for stuff we're not using. Craigs List is apparently a great way too- since we sold DJ's old exersaucer there in two days! Dave's job is going great- we finally got the insurance squared away. It's SO nice having him here more often- every other Friday off and every weekend- plus he gets home at 3:45pm every day! He's had more time to spend with DJ and fool around with our new LCD 42" TV and the computer that is hooked up to it- so he can play his video games.
