Been busy planning DJ's 1st birthday party. Nearly done with the invites, which are going to be DVD invites with a picture slideshow of DJ's first year. Just need to put some finishing touches and then work on burning them to DVD's and hoping that they work/compatable. My sisters friend did this for her son, that's where I got the idea. I guess it's getting pretty popular, and doing my own beats paying $250 which is what it would cost for a professional! I'll share the final product at some point.
Finally got the cake lined up. We're using the lady who did our wedding cake, she does other events as well. The first time I called she told me she was all booked up and was sorry. But then I decided to call back to see if she had any friends in the business to recommend and she ended up squeezing me in!! I am thrilled. It's pretty reasonable too ($40), esp. considering the quality we're going to get- her cakes are to DIE for. Oh, she's going to put Noah's Ark on the big cake, since the only thing I could think of so far that DJ likes is animals, and that's his room's theme.
We're inviting about 30 people. So, it's going to be a full house! Unfortunately if we invited everyone we wanted to, it would be about 50 people, so we had to cut out some fo the extended family. (Our aunt's and uncles, cousins) We're doing a BBQ in the backyard. It's actually going to be very reminicsent of the baby shower. Right down to me worrying about rain for that day, haha.
Hmmm, other than that....got back on my exercise bike today. Been a little over a month. Every time I thought about it I got sick. Or lazy. Don't know why but the past month or so my emotions have been up and down, reminds me of post-partum. Maybe because I stopped breastfeeding, hormones?? But, sure made me want to munch on junk food and stuff. Not good, but at least I didn't gain any weight back, but certainly did not lose any in the past month and a half. Oh well.
Got my concert tickets in the mail today for Aerosmith and Goo Goo Dolls. Also got my thankyou points reward- $100 for Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Can't wait to use that! That's all I can think of now, got two BBQ's this weekend, so staying busy busy.
