Over the Rainbow

The curse continues

I guess I didn't update here after Dave's new car was in an accident. Yup, the curse of the W's has continued! First me in the ER the night of my sisters wedding, and then not even two weeks after Dave got his new Saturn Aura, it was in an accident. Needs a lot of front end work, the frame even ended up being bent. Nice. It's been two weeks and the repairs are just getting started, I think next week he'll get a rental car, of course some $$ out of our pocket. Oh, and the best part? The moron who pulled out in front of Dave doing 35mph, got in the EXACT same accident doing the same thing, same place and everything, FIVE days prior! The cop said his record is horrible. Double Nice. Maybe this guy shouldn't have a license?!

Right now I'm also freaked out about the ER visit. Since I went against medical advice in leaving and checking myself out, they said some insurances won't cover the bill! I'm hoping that's not the case. If so, we'll fight it. But man, we don't need another unexpected bill with me not working, you know?

Sorry, this stuff is such a downer. Hmmm, what's been happening that's good? Well, we took DJ to a county fair this weekend, that was fun. It's so rare that we go out and do those things, Dave always has something he wants to do at the house instead, so it was a nice surprise in getting to go! We went to a few fireworks displays with some friends, that was nice. Yesterday I went to breakfast with Michelle, who by the way is pregnant! So that's exciting.

On the DJ front, I think I posted he's all done with his helmet right? Well, early June we had the last visit and they told us he could go without. His head looks better, although some days I wonder if it was worth it, how much "work" did the helmet do and how much was just time and growth? But, I know it was right to just do it and not leave things up to chance. DJ is saying mama and dada and babbling a lot. He's full-crawling now, has been for a couple of weeks. He's also pulling himself up on all the furniture. I can't breastfeed anymore, so he's taking a bottle and a sippy now and again. I know I should switch him to the sippy, but honestly I need to buy more in order to do that, so that takes a trip to the store. Plus, I've got some bottle stuff I'd like to use up, like liners. He's eating a TON. I'm starting more and more finger foods, mixed in with his baby food. He's had noodles, rice, cereal, pudding, cheese plus of coruse crackers and toast. It can be scary but I try not to worry about him choking.

I still update more at Myspace, but still not that often. I just feel it's easier there to post a quick blog on nothingness, where I feel like here I have to post something of substance. Over there I might just comment on Paris Hilton or a stupid neighbor of mine etc. So, if you've got a myspace, click on my link to the right and add me so you can read!
