Thursday was a day that completely tells why I wanted to be a stay at home mom. Michelle and I went to the Detroit Institute of Arts, with DJ in tote, to see the Ansel Adams exhibit. It was cool. I love his photography, in fact, I have several of his framed in our bedroom. After that, we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. I even got dessert! It was a perfect day out, minus when I was feeding DJ and he told me he didn't want any more peaches by hitting the container in my hands (I shouldn't have been holding it close to where he could reach) and it spilled all over my legs, shorts, down to my feet in sandals and the floor of the restaurant! Only a few specs went on him. Ya, so after washing the shorts 3 times with 3 different cleaning methods, you can only see a trace of the stain. That incident was what prodded me to get the apple cobbler with ice cream for dessert.
It was near 90 out Thursday, so later on when Dave got home DJ went for a "swim" in his pool. He loved it once we got the water warm enough for him. After I gave him a bath right there, since he had some sticky hair from the peaches.
Yup, days like that are why I love to be out of work, or a traditional job. I say that because, taking care of a baby and a house IS work, it is a job. I never wanted to be one to taut that, but it's true. Most days I don't get to sit down and rest until after DJ is in bed. Anyway, enough of that.
Friday we had a small BBQ with Chris, Stacey & Shawn here, to use up more of the left overs from last weekend, hot dogs and sausage. Saturday we didn't do much, Dave putzed around in the garage, since it was rainy and yucky out most of the day, but took a break to watch the Soprano's. We also watched more later after DJ was asleep. That's our summer TV series. He's seen up to season 3, but I've never watched it. So far I like it.
Today one of my sisters bridesmaids is throwing her a couples shower with a Jamaican theme, since they will be honeymooning there. We're leaving for that in a bit. Looks like the weather isn't going to cooperate though. Tomorrow we have another BBQ, Dave's aunt invited us over. Which is cool because usually we do something here for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day...it will be nice to get to go somewhere else for a change and let someone else do all the planning! haha
