Here is a copy of the email and pics I sent out to family and friends with DJ's update. The pics are over about the last 2 months. The one with me & him is from Mother's Day.
Amazingly, each month seems to go by faster and faster for us! It's hard to believe DJ just turned 8 months old. He's changing and learning so much every day.
The past couple of months he's begun to eat solid foods, and so far there isn't anything he doesn't like! It surely shows, because he's now up to 16 1/2 pounds and although I'm not sure on the height, he's certainly growing there too, since most of his outfits he outgrows by height first. A few milestones he reached recently....he's saying mama & dada, as well as "hey", which was technically his first word. He also has begun to sleep through the night, a few lucky nights a week, something mommy was anxiously awaiting. Since he has become more mobile, he doesn't care to sit in his exersaucer for long any more, so he is usually sitting up playing on the floor or on his tummy moving around. He's not fully crawling yet, but he sort of pulls and rolls himself along to where he wants to go. One of our favorite accomplishments, has been his learning what "hug" means, and if you're lucky, when you ask, he may give you one or two or three!
Since the weather is getting warmer we're spending more time outside, his grandma W. got him a swing for our tree in the backyard, which he loves. We go on lots of walks and just sitting on the lawn playing with his toys is always bound to entertain him (some pics included). He can spend quite a bit of time with his nursery rhyme "cd player", his ABC toolbench or his own set of fisher price muscial pots & pans. He still has his molding helmet, but in another couple of weeks he'll be finished and have a rounder head. :)
