I wanted to post an entry on my weight loss journey. Happily, after about a month off of exercising and watching what I ate, the past month I've buckled back down! The holidays are always so hard...
I just updated my ticker, I'm only 3 pounds away from my first goal: which is to be back at the weight I was before DJ was born. This is so exciting, mainly because before I had DJ I'd lost 15 pounds, so to be back there is extra special since I didn't know if after having him I could get back to that weight. My goal was to be at this weight, 130, by DJs 6 month birthday, which is about 6 weeks away, so it looks like I'll make it.
Next I want to lose another 10 pounds and be down to 120; and after that we'll see. I might stay there or I might try to lose another 5 or so pounds. I need to come up with a great reward if I make that goal of 120...knowing me, I'll pick one, like I did last time (Ipod) and then never buy it!! LOL
So, it hasn't been easy and I haven't been perfect, but it hasn't been too bad getting back into the habit of a healthy lifestyle. (Since I did it for 6 months before I got pregnant.) The hardest thing is that I can't cut calories. Since I'm breastfeeding, I'm technically still supposed to eat 2,000 a day PLUS another 500! The good part is that BFeeding burns about 500 a day! So, I think that is what is helping me too, because even though I'm not majorly cutting calories, I'm still losing AND it's been about a pound a week. Last time, I was more at a rate of a half pound a week much of the time! (And that was with 5 plus hours of exercise a week and seriously cutting cal's!)
I've done pretty good with sticking to my routines. Been doing pilates and my stationary bike several times a week each. Plus, in January I added 300 crunches a day. I did this because even though I'm down to where I was before and I was able to fit into my "skinny jeans", they're not as good a fit as before. Unfortunately, I'm noticing the oppisite of last time. Previously when I was losing, I lost inches easier. Now, I seem to be losing pounds but not as many inches! So, I now get that inches are just as impt. Because, even if I get down to 120, if I still have a flabby belly....I won't LOOK thinner. In addition, I've been doing the 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and drinking LOTS of water.
I know a lot of you are also losing weight- so lots of luck to all of you! Send me any inspiration if you have it!!
